Pay Later is available in the Apple Wallet app on iPhone

Apple has launched an installment payment service Pay Later.
Apple has launched the Pay Later service, which allows you to make purchases in installments. Users will be able to spend from $50 to $1000 — you can reimburse this amount in four payments within six weeks without additional penalties or interest. Pay Later is still available in the USA and only to some "randomly selected" users.
Apple has launched the Pay Later service, which allows you to make purchases in installments, the company said in a press release. The launch of Pay Later was announced at the World Developers Conference (WWDC) last year, initially it was assumed that the service would be available simultaneously with iOS 16 (released in September 2022). However, Apple later announced that it was postponing the release due to technical difficulties.
Pay Later allows users to spend from $50 to $1,000 on purchases, but pay for them later — you can reimburse this amount in four payments within six weeks without additional penalties or interest. When it's time to make a payment, the service will send a notification.
Pay Later is available in the Apple Wallet app on iPhone (with iOS 16.4) and iPad (with iPadOS 16.4) devices and so far only in the USA. However, not everyone will be able to use Pay Later for now — only some "randomly selected" users have received access to the service so far, the company said.
As The Verge notes, this is the first time in Apple's history when it will deal with the financial side of the issue itself — operations will take place through a new subsidiary of Apple — Apple Financing LLC. Apple reported that purchases made with Pay Later will not affect the credit history of users — however, as The Verge found out, in the agreement, the history of transactions made through Pay Later can be transferred to credit bureaus.
The company's transition to the "buy now, pay later" model may contribute to the further development of its business in the service sector, Yahoo Finance writes. Services, Apple's second-largest source of revenue, generated $78.1 billion of the company's $394.3 billion in revenue in 2022. The iPhone, which is the company's first largest source of revenue, accounted for $205.4 billion in the same year.
